There are mets which are not divided between country. As the frog thighs which were worth us the title of froogies in England, I wonder how is perceived throughout the world makes it eat snails?
PS: they are still alive

We have an expression in the US, I guess when we can't describe the taste, that it "tastes like chicken". Well, escargot doesn't taste like chicken to me, but with the sauce it tastes like butter...yum!

I have never eaten anything frog or snail, mainly because I grew up in a very unadventurous house where we mainly ate very boring prepackaged foods that generally aren't good for you. Around these parts most people think it's "yucky" to eat anything frog/snail/slimey animal related. I personally wouldn't mind trying them, though. Have you got any good recipes to share that I should try someday?

By the way, that is an awesome picture of an interesting looking creature with a cool shell. And your use of the word "froogies" was too adorable!

i like snails to eat but don't very often have them

here in the uk some of us love 'Whelks' - quite big sea snails... and periwinkles quite small sea-snails...

people either love them or hate them

I too love snails. I have never eaten frog because i haven't come across it. I don't know if you know the program Fear Factor, where several contestants have to eat all sorts of gross (eyeballs, cowtesticles, pigtails etc.) things?
It's a matter of experience and culture i guess.

Moi j'adore les escargots avec le petit beurre au persil et à l'ail, c'est un délice! Et concernant les grenouilles, j'aime ça mais ne trouve pas le goût extraordinaire car ça me rappelle le poulet!
